Anyone ready for fall?

Hello Stitchers,
The weather has been my kind of weather lately. I love the cool crisp air. I'm hoping we are on the downhill slide of this hot sticky stuff. Fall if my favorite time of the year. I just adore sweatshirt weather! So with cooler air on the brain I've been working on some halloween projects lately. I've finished these two quick stitches into little containers. Aren't they adorable? The days are definately getting shorter so those of you who are 'winter' stitchers come on in and get a new project for those longer evenings coming up.

Betsy Ross and her sisters?

Hello everyone,

I just had to share this story for you. It'll show my gullible side! Linda and I were working at the framing desk. She was putting together the new ornament kit and I was entering things on our website. Make sure to check out the new stuff coming in. Anyway, I told Linda I thought the Liberty Belles by Little House Needleworks was very cute. She said one of them must have been Betsy Ross and maybe the other two were her sisters who helped her out but didn't get any credit. She said it so seriously I had no clue she was kidding. So, everyone out there. Stitch up Betsy Ross and her sisters. Don't those sisters deserve some credit!

Enjoy your day and make some time for stitching!

Bah Humbug!

Most of you who know Sarah won't be surprised by this blog...I just finished a cute little Y2K pattern. Yeah that's right! Only took 10 years for the finishing. Isn't it a cute little pin keep and scissor fob. You all know how much I like the little things. This pattern is still available and would make a very cute reminiscent piece or put the current year on it and it would still be adorable!!!

Dragonfly beauty

Hello Cross Stitchers!

Here is another freebie chart we thought was adorable and made into a pin cushion. We've made up some supply bags to go with the free chart so stop in and pickup this quick project.

We've also been working hard at Christmas ornaments for our Christmas in July sale. Don't groan too loudly. I know it seems early for thinking about Christmas already but these would make wonderful quick gifts for anyone on your nice list!

Front Windows

Hello All,

Here is a picture preview of what the front windows are going to look like. It's a new model for the store and finished with our new 'gift box' finishing technique. We have directions for this type of finishing at the store if anyone is insterested.

My daughter Brooke is in softball so I'll be learning all about that sport this summer. More than I already know anyway. I volunteered to help out with the scorebook and so far it should be taken care of but I may have to do it at some point so I figured I had better learn it. I was checking into it on the internet and it is way more complicated than I thought so I have my work cut out for me. Wish me luck at learning something new!

Just Nan Twilight Pearls Leaf Ball

Ok, I couldn't resist a second post today. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in starting a stitching group for this one? You know how much I love the small stuff. We just got the chart in from Just Nan for the Twilight Pearls Leaf Ball. We also have the fabric in and I can't wait to get going on this one. I just have so many projects going right now I should really get done first but I might not be able to resist. The fabric is gorgeous. Let me know if you are interested in a group stitching project!

Hello Crosse Stitchery Fans! We are glad that you come here to check into what is going on at the store. I am a little behind on posting info here but promise to blog every time I put something new on facebook which is usually a couple of times a week. Thanks Colette for the suggestion! This last week I finished a very cute Liberty piece which is a freebie from Lizzie Kate. I finished it into a 'gift wrap box' so it is a standup piece that can set anywhere you need a cute little bit of patriotism to show. I also finished my stocking which is the Sugarplum stocking by SamSarah. Very cute and non traditional. I will be posting the Ornament and Reindeer stocking by SamSarah when I get those done. Cross your fingers I get them done by fall! I'm working on them during Brooke's softball so I should have ample time to complete them. I've only taken a little ribbing so far from other spectators! Sarah and I have been discussing offering finishing services through the store so ask us about a project if you need to have something finished.

Ornament Club

I must admit I've been on a finishing frenzy lately. I went through my WIP basket sitting by my chair and sorted out projects as to importance. It was getting quite messy will all my works in progress. I still have 10 or more in my current basket and all but two fit in there so at least it's a little cleaner. I moved a few to the back burner in the spare bedroom and put away a couple that had been done. I need to work on 5 pieces to donate to the guild boutique for a fundraiser for the Oktoberfest show which I will post pictures of when I get all 5 done. I've got three done right now. I also finished the next ornament for our ornament club. The designer is Cherished Stitches and it is a needlbook which was stitched on 36ct buttercream linen. I really enjoyed working on the higher count linen although I do need my trusty mighty brite to do it. Our ornament club was started after the Just Cross Stitch issue came out last September. We chose 12 ornaments with the help of our regular customers and made up kits for one each month. It's been a fun club. In June we will have a couple of finishing nights in case some people have questions. I believe this was a popular club and will be done again next year. We should have details in September if anyone is interested.

WIP's

Happy Friday to all. It's a great day to be thinking about stitching with the drippy rainy weather. I am currently working on the Gingerbread House set from The Victoria Sampler. Here is a picture of the biscornu I just finished. I have the scissor fob stitched but not assembled. I have a few sides of the house done and am anxious to get back to working on it again. I took a break for some guild projects that I needed to complete. Hopefully the weather warms up a little bit. I'd like to get my flowers planted. I'm thinking with snow/rain mix in our forcast for tonight I may wait another week. Enjoy your weekend and keep on stitching!

Bent Creek Newbies

Hello Stitching Fans,
I couldn't resist sharing these cute new patterns from Bent Creek. They just arrived this week. For those of you who loved The Branch series there is a new Patriotic one starting. There was also a Christmas Branch series and of course the original Branch series. Check out our website for more information. The Happily Ever After is a very cute birth sampler that looks like it would be a quick project if you know of anyone you need a gift for. And being a stitcher I fell in love with the Stitching Row. I just love alphabet stuff and stitching what a great way to combine the two. Might just have to pick that one up and do it for a model. I have flowers and yard work on the schedule for this weekend. My flower store in town is having their spring sale so I'll get the flowers I need for my pots. Hopefully I'll still have time left over for stitching!
Have a great weekend,
Tricia

Chessie and Me

Hello Crosse Stitchery fans,

I got a Chessie and Me project done that I'd like to share with you. Unfortunately it's a show and tell only, it was part of a class through our region embroiders guild meeting so it isn't for sale at this time on the open market. It was a quick project to do and the needle roll was pre-sewn so all I had to do was stitch on the cover. It's a handy little project roll I've already got my next project in it ready to stitch! It's out of season but my next one should be better. I'm going to be working on the Shepherd's Bush Liberty pin cusion and scissor fob. I'll post that when I am done!

The weather is beautiful so we hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the outdoors!

Hello fellow stitchers.

I just finished a guild project that I think turned out adorably. Isn't it just the cutest pin cube. Women used to have these in their bathrooms to hold their dress pins. Our Paula taught this class for guild. The designer is With My Needle and the chart name is A Pair of Pin Cubes. There is a quaker one and a strawberry one. I stitched the strawberry one on 32ct fabric over one thread. I'm not sure I want to do another 'over one' project anytime very soon. It was good once I got going but took a while to get the hang of it and really enjoy it. Hope you enjoy the picture. Sarah is working on the quaker pin cube so hopefully she gets it done soon!!! (Bets anyone????) Have a great rest of your week. Tricia

Sharing Customer projects

Hello Fellow Stitchers.

Lynn L was in yesterday and we helped her finish her Easter tins from SamSarah. They turned out really cute. Lynn chose to not use the blue fabric that came with the kit so we picked a nice spring color of Weeks Dye Works fabric. She chose 20ct Guacamole by Weeks Dye Works which she really enjoyed working with. She is going to mail them out to her friends this week, what a cute gift they will receive.

Jane W also came in and shared her quilt with us that she made. She collected black and white fabric for quite a while with the intention of making a male friendly quilt. It also turned out very cute and we thought you all might enjoy seeing it too. Today is stich in day so we hope that lots of people come to socialize and stitch with us so we can goof off today!!!

Happy Easter Everyone!

I hope this finds you all well and healthy and able to enjoy time with your family and friends this Easter. I will be going to my mothers house and sharing Easter with her, possibly my Mother--in-law and her husband, a friend from the shop, and of course my husband, Troy and daughter, Brooke. I really look forward to the time together. Even though the weather has been awesome I still am in a stitching mode. I'm currently working on the 15 sided biscornu that goes with my scissor fob I just posted, a pin cube project for guild, and a Victoria Sampler project for guild. I also have about 10 other projects going which I pickup from time to time. Can't just work on one any more!!! Here's good health and happy stitching to you all.

Way to go Paula

You did it. Now you need to post some new projects you've gotten completed also. Apparently we need to do a computer lesson sooner rather than later where pictures and such are concerned. Hope you ladies had a great day.

Sunday, March 28, 2010

I think Paula figured out how to do this? :( :) ?

Well, we'll see if I figured this out or not? As you all know, I am the least computer techy person in the world. Sarah and Trish will be so happy if I have been successful. Have a great day everyone!!!

Autumn Blessings by Elizabeth's Designs

This is the latest addition to our models. I stitched this while I was recovering from gall bladder removal surgery last fall. It's an easy stitching project with a few charms and beads for embellishments.

Current Projects....

Hello fellow stitchers. I have completed the scissor fob of the Victoria Sampler Sweetheart Roses kit. It's the cutest little biscornu I have seen yet. There is also a 15 sided biscornu that I have about 12 of the sides stitched. That is what I will be working on this weekend. I will also be working on a strawberry pin cube which is a guild project. I hope you all have a great stitching weekend.

Judy Althoff Stevens visit

Can you believe it Judy Stevens has visited the store. I know we almost
fell over. She says to say Hi to everyone. All is going well with her. We
are waiting patiently for the fabric to arrive so we can start working
on the Blackbird Class projects. Should be here hopefully Monday.
We hope everyone has a lovely (basketball/stitching) weekend.
